Timber processing is that part of the forest industry involved in transforming logs into new products. It includes sawmilling, wood, paper and furniture product manufacturing. KILN DRIED LOGS
Kiln dried logs provide maximum heat output because they burn hotter and give better fuel efficiency therefore saving you money. After the logs are kiln dried they must be stored in a suitable dry ventilated location otherwise they will absorb moisture.
KILN DRIED HARDWOOD LOGS
Our Kiln Dried Hardwood has under 20% moisture content. Hardwood comes from trees such as, oak, beech and ash. This results in a denser wood which means hardwood burns longer, producing less smoke. Hardwood is great for a hotter longer burn.
KILN DRIED SOFTWOOD LOGS
Our Kiln Dried Softwood also has under 20% moisture content. Softwood comes from trees such as pine and spruce. This results in a less denser wood which means the softwood burns for shorter producing more smoke. Softwood is great for starting a fire fast.
